Signing up with Bittrex Global only takes 5-10 minutes. There are just a few simple steps you need to go through in order to set up your account. Because Bittrex Global is highly regulated, we do require that you complete a strict KYC process in order to verify your identity. This helps to protect all of our millions of users around the world.

Follow this step-by-step guide to get your Bittrex Global account set up so you can start trading cryptocurrency today.

Step 1: Registration

Go to the Registration page and type in the email address you would like to use with your account. Be sure to choose a strong password (it should contain upper and lower-case letters, at least one number, and be at least 12 characters long). Then, click on the “Create Account” button.

Step 2: Verify your email address

After you’ve successfully created your account, you’ll see this screen:

Now, go to your inbox and look for an email from Bittrex Global with the subject line “Bittrex Global Account Verification.”

Open this email and click on the blue “Verify Email” button. This should take you back to the Bittrex Global site so you can continue the Identity Verification (KYC) process.

Step 3: Accept the Terms of Service

After you click on the link in your email, you’ll be asked to review and accept our Terms of Service. Click on the button for “Continue” to continue to the next step.

Step 4: Basic profile information

Once you’ve accepted the Terms of Service, we’ll need to get some basic information  in order to confirm your identity. After you’ve filled in this information, please click on the “Continue” button.

Step 5: Review ID information

In order to complete your registration with Bittrex Global you will need to verify your identity. Click on the “See acceptable IDs for your country” button so that you can choose your country and see which forms of ID are accepted.

Step 6: Select your ID type

After you click the “See acceptable IDs for your country” button, you should see a new window where you can choose your country.

Then select passport, driver’s license, or government-issued identity card (depending on what country you’re from). We highly recommend you use your passport if you have one.

Step 7: Choose how to send your ID

Once you’ve chosen the type of ID you will provide, you’ll have a choice of three ways to submit it:

  • Take a picture of your ID with your desktop/laptop camera
  • Upload a picture from your computer
  • Scan a QR code with your mobile phone and continue the process on mobile

To avoid any issues when uploading your ID, and to get your account verified as quickly as possible, please read through the tips below.

Unsupported IDs: Please make sure the ID type you choose matches the ID type you upload. For passports, take a picture of the entire passport or the system may reject it. When submitting a government-issued ID or driver’s license, you’ll need to take a picture of the front and back of the ID. The ID must be accepted by Jumio’s verification system, and the types of IDs accepted can vary between countries.

Unreadable IDs: If your ID is not readable, or otherwise unable to be verified as a legitimately issued government ID, you will fail verification and will not be able to access the Bittrex Global trading platform. Please ensure that the picture of the government-issued ID is clear. Do not black out any information or watermark submitted items. All the document images must be unaltered. Please be sure when taking a picture of your ID that there is as little glare as possible and that all information is readable.

Expired IDs: Expired IDs will not be accepted, so please make sure your uploaded document is up-to-date.

Non-Latin characters on Government IDs: In some countries, government IDs use non-Latin characters. These IDs require additional steps to verify, often including a manual process that takes additional time. To get your account verified as quickly as possible, please use international passports, as these documents use Latin characters. If your passport or ID does not use Latin characters, after uploading your “selfie” and document you must open a support ticket so that a Bittrex Global Agent can override the  document-reading error. On the support ticket, please provide your full name in your native language for the agent to verify.

Step 8: Confirm that your ID uploaded correctly

Once you’ve successfully uploaded your passport (recommended), driver’s license or national ID card, check to make sure all of the information is readable, that the image is not blurry and that the entire document can be seen. Then click confirm to continue to the next step.

Step 9: Take a selfie

After you’ve successfully submitted your ID, you’ll need to provide a selfie. Click on the “Start” button to continue.

Next, you’ll see a pop-up in your browser asking for permission to use your camera. Click Allow” to continue.

Once your browser has access to your camera, you should see your face appear on the screen. Center your face in the oval and click the “I’m ready” button.

Selfie issues: You will need a device with a camera to take a selfie to complete Identity Verification. This step requires a selfie taken with the computer’s camera, and you may not upload a photo instead. Please use Chrome, as this is our most supported browser, and make sure you have plenty of light on your face. If your desktop computer does not have a camera attached, you’ll need to scan a QR code and switch to mobile when submitting your ID in Step 9 above.

After your selfie has been taken, its quality will be verified.

Lastly, you’ll see the screen below confirming the acceptance of your ID and your selfie and the completion of your Identity Verification (KYC) process.

Step 10: Fund your account

After about 5-10 minutes, you should see a message that verification is complete:

Once you see this message, you can go to the Instant Buy page to trade cryptocurrency in just a few clicks or go to the Holdings page where you can deposit with credit/debit card.
